Roman is putting together a blog for our film photos. I’ll post a link to that as soon as its done. I’m so excited! Also I’m considering removing all my illustration work off of this blog and perhaps creating a new one. Any thoughts on that?
▲4 | reblogAs a kid growing up I really loved Beatrix Potter’s “Tales of” stories. Her illustrations almost match the beauty of her writing. I spent tonight watching the Royal Ballet Film
” The Tales of Beatrix Potter”. Truly mesmerizing.
I will post a video later of one of either the Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse or ( there are two versions the stage version and the film version) because I think that the effect of this video will put more emphasis on what a masterpiece this film/ballet is ( even though the Tale of Jeremy Fisher and the Tale of the Two Bad Mice are my favorite ones).
UPDATE:
Click here to see the Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse or here for Jeremy Fishher and here for two bad mice. Make sure you walk it in full screen.
▲2 | reblogGustave Dore’s illustrations for the Adventures of the Baron Munchausen. This story is delightful- I have only seen the illustrations, I have yet to take the time to read the book ( even though I own it) but I have also seen the movie which is so striking in terms of visuals considering when it came out. I would recommend you see the movie since it was so great and to tide you off until then, here are a few of the illustrations from the book. ( I will probably do a post on this..later)
